Most teens turn sixteen and get the license to drive, Lil gets the
license to kill demons.
Orphaned as a child and raised by her grandfather, Lil is concerned with
navigating her new high school and is totally unaware she's a descendant of the
Nephilim, a race of beings with super powers tasked with protecting humanity
from the demons who threaten it. But when she meets Bran, his psi energy unlocks
her latent abilities and opens her eyes to what she is, a Guardian.
But Bran has a secret of his own, one that could destroy their growing
relationship. Though they share a Nephilim background, he is also half demon,
making him the enemy. But in Lil's heart she knows that Bran is good, and when
he is kidnapped by a powerful demon, she convinces the other Guardians to rescue
him, not knowing that Bran was just the bait. The demon is really after Lil. And
the truth that she discovers in the underground demonic enclave may just destroy
everything she believes in, unless she makes the right choice.
